Great Golf Choices in Jacksonville, the Beaches, and Ponte Vedra
Like to golf? The Jacksonville, Beaches, and Ponte Vedra areas are the places for you! In the April 2010 issue of 904 Magazine (another wonderful publication from the folks at Jacksonville Magazine), Fred Seely described many of the local places to golf. Here’s a recap of some of the options, both public and private.
Open to Anyone
- King & Bear in World Golf Village. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, this one-of-a-kind course will cost between $89 and $200 depending on the season.
- Hyde Park on the Westside of Jacksonville. For under $30, you can play this Donald Ross course.
- North Hampton in Nassau County. This Arnold Palmer course offers a round for about $50.
- Amelia Island Plantation (Ocean Course) in Fernandina. Well, this one’s pricier than most of the rest at about $200, but it has holes directly on the ocean. Gorgeous!
- Players Stadium at TPC. Believe it or not, anyone can play here but you will pay (up to $375). You could recover your money by taking bets on your ability to land the 17th hole.
