Upcoming Charitable Events in Ponte Vedra and Nocatee
Hi All! It’s Heather again. I wanted to bring your attention to some really cool charitable events that are coming up in Ponte Vedra. The Donna Hicken Foundation is hosting a couple of fun activities that are right here in our backyard (and less demanding than a marathon)!
On Saturday, November 28th, there’s a 5K through the back nine of the TPC. I’m attaching the registration page for easy access. By participating in this event, not only are you raising money for a great cause, but you’ll get Ground admission to THE PLAYERS on Sunday, May 9th, 2010. The number of participants is limited to 1000, so make sure to enter early!
And, on November 15th, 2009, the first annual Bike 26.2 with Donna through beautiful Nocatee will occur. Gosh, I wish I’d known this was an event before I committed to running the marathon! This ride will loop through Nocatee and Ponte Vedra Beach, so it’ll have spectacular views!

Hope you are both well. I am interested in signing up for the bike ride. Eloy and I are avid riders and do rides all the time. There is another local event being held on December 2nd at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse for Beaches Woman Partnership. BWP is a nonprofit organization that provides free programs for local woman that need help. That help can be coping with the loss of a loved one, divorce or abuse. There will be woman present to talk about how BWP helped them through a difficult time. It’s a great cause! I have been asked to be a table captain this year so if you are interested in attending, let me know and I will send out an invitation. Look forward to seeing you both soon.
